This is one of those personal stories I never imagined I’d share but here we are. Because if it helps even one other mama out there, it’s worth it.
So let’s talk nipples. (TMI? Maybe. But very real.)
I was deep into breastfeeding my teething baby girl when things took a painful turn. Her new little teeth weren’t exactly gentle, and after one especially rough latch, I was left with an injury. Raw, sore, and impossible to ignore. Every feed after that came with a wince and a deep breath.
I was told to use creams (lanolin, medicated ointments) but I decided not to. Not because I had anything against them, but because I wanted to support my body in a different way. That’s when a dear friend of mine mentioned: try Bioptron light therapy.

My Experience:
I started using the Bioptron light gently, about 8-10 minutes a day, directly over the injured area. The warmth was soothing, comforting, even. No stinging, no irritation, just a sense of peace in the middle of what had become a pretty stressful nursing experience.
There was no overnight magic, but slowly, the tenderness faded. The swelling eased. By the end of the first week, I could breastfeed her without bracing myself.
By the second week, the injury had fully healed. No creams. No scabbing. Just light and my body doing what it knew how to do.
What I Learned:
Our bodies are incredible. They just need the right kind of support sometimes. For me, Bioptron light therapy wasn’t just about healing a wound. It was a reminder of how important it is to support your body in a way that feels aligned with yourself - your views, beliefs, way of life.

And if you’re a breastfeeding mama navigating nipple pain, soreness, or sensitivity, I can’t recommend this enough! It was the kindest thing I did for myself during a hard stretch of motherhood.
Because some parts of parenting are hard … but healing doesn’t have to be.
